Our Pastors

Pastor Dan & Corenna Rideout.jpg

Pastor Dan Rideout attended Northeast Christian College in Fredericton, N.B. from 1983-1985 (formally known as U.P.B.I.). While attending Bible College he felt a call on his life that would one day lead him to western Canada to plant a church. For him, that was the birth place of his dream.

Shortly after he felt his calling he was invited to assist in the church in Nanaimo, B.C where he met and married his wife Corenna. Today they have 2 married children and four grandchildren; all are involved in the work of God here in Abbotsford.

Dan Rideout became a licensed minister in 1986 and Corenna received her ministerial license in 2013.

Pastor Rideout has held various positions in the United Pentecostal Church of British Columbia organization as the Home Missions director, District Board member, and presently the D.A.R.E director and a district presbyter. However, his true passion at this time is to see the church and it's members grow personally here in Abbotsford.

Corenna has obtained a certificate from the Institute of Soteric counselling and graduated in 2018 from Purpose Institute where she studied pastoral leadership. She was the secretary for the Ladies ministries of the United Pentecostal Church of British Columbia from 2003-2009 and is currently the district prayer coordinator. She enjoys her hobbies of piano playing and maintaining her 125 gallon aquarium. Her favourite pastime, hands down, is with any or all of her 4 grandchildren.

Other Ministry

Michael Rideout serves New Life Pentecostal Church as Assistant to the Pastor and as our Student Ministries Director.

He has a deep desire to help people, young and seasoned, grow their walk with God and allow God to better each one's life.

Melissa Mattis serves New Life Pentecostal Church as the Director of Music. Melissa first began playing piano and singing when she was 4 years old. Music has always been a passion and desire of hers and as a young girl she began singing specials at church and occasionally playing the piano. In her early teenage years she felt God working on her heart and calling her into the music ministry and began playing either the piano or drums in every service. Through her teenage years and into her early 20's she grew in her walk with God, and in her music ministry. She felt God's anointing increasing in those aspects. She decided a long time ago that she was going to serve God and where He called her, she would go. Melissa whole heartedly believes that God chose her to serve in the music department. In 2013, she married her wonderful husband Kavian (who is also very involved in the music ministry) and now has two beautiful children. Melissa and her family give all the honor and glory to God!
